The 24th annual Grand Canyon State Junior High School Orchestra Festival will be held Saturday, April 26th, 2008 from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM on the Northern Arizona Universitycampus.

Event Information

Grade Categories: 6, 7, 8; 7 & 8; and 7, 8, 9; Ensembles: String Orchestra and Full Orchestras.
An adjudication form will be used with grades ranging from I (superior) to V. There will be no rankings. Adjudicators will work with each group immediately following the performance at the performance site. There will be 30-minute time slots for each group. We recommend performing for 15 minutes so there is 15 minutes for the clinic with your group. This event has been organized for the purpose of accommodating those groups who wish to participate in a festival designed specifically for junior high and middle school level orchestras.

Applications and Fees

The application deadline is March 1, 2008. Entries will be acknowledged on a first-come, first-serve basis. Faxed applications are accepted. Fees are due by April 1, 2008. If checks are not received by this time, your group will be eliminated and the next name on the waiting list will be accepted. Fees are not refundable after April 1 st, 2008. The fee for this event is $210.00 per group. Checks should be made payable to NAU Orchestras. A photographer will be available to take group photos after your performance for an extra charge. This year we will also be offering DVDs for $15 each. DVD order forms can be found online and will also be available at the Festival registratioin desk. Reservations cannot be made over the phone.
