The Instrumental Program at NAU has a number of scholarships established to assist students who are enrolled as intrumental music education majors, instrumental performance majors, bachelor of arts majors, or instrumental music minors. These scholarships are awarded based on students' entrance auditions. Students are automatically considered for instrumental scholarships upon receipt of their School of Music Application, acceptance into Northern Arizona University, and acceptance into the NAU School of Music. For full scholarship consideration, students must audition on or before March 1, 2008.
Northern Arizona University offers several types of financial aid, based both on academic merit and financial need. For information on general university financial aid, please visit http://www4.nau.edu/finaid/types_of_aid/ or call (928)523-4951.
Our university, as part of the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE), offers reduced tuition for new students who are residents of 14 western states, and who enroll in one of the 53 WUE majors on the Flagstaff or Yuma campuses. The reduced tuition for this program is 1.5 times the Arizona in-state rate. That is approximately $6,518 less than out-of-state tuition! Participating in WUE disqualifies students from receiving NAU non-resident tuition scholarships.
